Am looking for the 40-pin IC/Chip that plugs into the RF
section (contained within the metal rf box on the motherboard) of a Commodore Vic-20 computer. This should say "6560" printed on the chip. |

Did you mean "one working" vic 20 and if so, is it for sale?? |

1 VIC-20 had bad keyboard & another will not power its tape-recorder so I made 1 good 1 from the top 1/2 of 1 & the bottom 1/2 of the other 1. I also replaced the insides of my 1st VIC-20 when it stopped working (from some1 who up-graded theirs to a C-64). So I've a spare VIC 'chip' you can have. Could 1 make it into a cartridge for a C-64 to give it a better choose of colours, 4 sound at once & 32 lines of text ;-) . So yes! the good 1 is for sale.

Andrew,
What would this cost to ship to Michigan, USA, zip code 49684. Would $5.00 US be a reasonable sale price, plus shipping? Let me know. Thanks again, Pete (Datacreed) |

$5US for the 6560 +p&p would be reasonable? Is the USA 6560 the same as UK & Europe 1s? |

I have no idea how to guage the value, or whether the UK would be compatible with US.
Do you use PAL instead of NTSC video? Perhaps the chips are the same but the support circuitry is different? What do you think the chip is worth? Thanks.. |

I do not think a PAL VIC will do for an NTSC computer. Sorry.

I have a Vic 20 for sale if you're interested. It's actually a whole system more or less that I am planning on putting on Ebay shortly. I live in Los Angeles, so at least it wouldn't be shipping over-sea. By the way, is it possible that the 6560 chip is the same one they use in the 1541 floppy disk drive for the Commodore 64 ('cause I have a couple of those too...actually replaced a 6560 or 6566 chip myself in my C64 drive)? If you're interested, email me: maitaiz@hotmail.com
