I used to play this old WW2 flying game at my friends house on a floppy disk. Here are all the details I remember:

It was a 2-D side scroller.
You played as an American fighter plane that took off from a carrier.
You could load bombs, rockets or torpedoes when you landed on the carrier.
You would bomb and strafe Japanese huts on islands.
You had to blow up the huts, then strafe the running guys before they could get to another hut.
Later levels included concrete bunkers, enemy planes, and enemy ships.
The enemy plane runways were protected from bombs by nets in the trees.
I think the levels were named by military ranks, starting at ensign for low levels and going to higher ranks for higher levels.

That is all I can remember for now. If you can't name the game, but can point me to another place I could find help I would greatly appreciate that too. This game was incredibly fun to play, I am looking to track down a copy if I can to try and run it and play it again every now and then for nostalgia's sake. Thanks for your help.

Hi Fonzie,

can you remember which make/type (and maybe model) of computer you played this game on?

Reason I ask is that some games were only available on certain computers. e.g Commodore.

These details may help people remember the name of the game you are looking for.

Good Luck - Mike

More info would certainly help. You can search around Mobygames.com which has a really nice search engine to try and help narrow things down. Once you see some screen shots you may be able to figure out what you remember.
