Hello I am looking for any games that will run well on my Compaq portable 1 computer
Stat's 8088 4.77Mhz with an 8087 math coprocessor installed 640Kb ram 2 360k 5.25" floppy drives CGA graphics card (only using the internal green screen) DOS v2.12 No hard drive yet (in the market for one if anyone has one to sell) Edited by Lucian_Dragos - 15 July 2012 at 8:02am |

You match most of the early dos or boot game requirements. Essentially you'd be looking for games that run under dos x.x (whatever you have or create a boot disk with) and that are CGA compatible and that require under 640K of ram (which really was about the max anything would need).
I would google for a dos games archive or something and perhaps a website out there will have some good specs listed so you'd know ahead of time. Any type of game genre you're interested in specifically? There are tons of threads out there but we could always rattle off a few personal favorites from the day. I loved Sopwith and Spacewar. FleetSweep is one I used to play with a joystick (better with color) but was on an 8088. |
