But he also put the whole thing into a real Coco3 case. The result is an FPGA CoCo that looks like a Color Computer. It powers on in an instant and doesn’t have to boot some other OS before it becomes a CoCo. It looks like a CoCo. It feels like a CoCo. And running at an effective 21 MHz, and with built-in DriveWire support, it is at least a CoCo 3++ with the potential for more great features in the future.

COCO3 FPGA IN A REAL COCO3 CASE

As the Sinclair ZX Spectrum approaches its 30th birthday in 2012, the video gaming craze that it began is still going strong. This lists the code as columns of assembly language. Most of it is math or conditional statements (if x is true, go to y), so each time there's ''go to'' a curve is drawn from that point to its destination. When a byte of data (as opposed to code) is found in the cartridge, it is shown as an orange row: a solid block for a ''1'' or a dot for a ''0''. The row is eight elements long, representing a whole byte. This usually means that the images can be seen in their entirety when a series of bytes are shown as rows.

Ben Fry conceived a program to grahpically visualize these cartridge codes, and the result is, wow, impressive !!!

ATARI 2600 CARTRIDGES ART VISION

Amazing. One of the earliest Apple product (an Apple IIe) and the latest one (Ipad) can communicate with each others. Stewart Smith contacted the Panic Software guys to ask them if they could possibly use it to run an old text animation that he'd created for a song a while back. Stewart's code was meant to be played on the old cassette deck source, and they didn't have one. So they did it with an iPad!

SENDING CODE TO AN APPLE II FROM A IPAD

Benheck stroke again!
