Sanyo
Wavy 70FD

This is a MSX 2+ computer. It'a kind of Wavy 35 with a built-in 3.5" disk-drive (720 KB).

No great enhancements over the MSX 2, the MSX 2+ has 19268 colors instead of 512, some more graphic / KANJI resolutions and the FM-PAC cartridge is included, providing 9 channels of FM sound without drums or 6 channels FM sound with 5 FM drums.

The Sanyo Wavy 70FD features the Rensha Turbo, which is a built-in auto-fire system. The repetition speed can be adjusted with a slider. There is also a PAUSE button, which hangs the system. Another special feature of the Wavy 70FD is the built in XBASIC language. It's also called KUN BASIC/KUN COMPILER, but it's real name seems to be MSX BASIC KUN (which means Mr. MSX Basic)

There was also a Wavy 70FD2 with two built-in 3.5" disk-drives (see pictures section). Another difference with the Wavy 70FD is apparently a 256 KB JIS-1 and JIS-2 ROM.

MSX2+ computers were only produced by Panasonic, Sony and Sanyo. They were only available in Japan...

The rensha turbo (auto fire function) is basically a dumb implement to fill the second FD bay in only one Floppy models, remark the 2 floppy model haven't it.

Also those models are 'unofficialy' imported to spain with the psu changed to 220 50Hz and a app in disk for display the tilde (Ń) an are imported by a MSX spanish magazine , the price imported reaches a low end pc machine and is higher than an amiga or an atari. In fact, this model killed the standard in spain because people saw the "logical evolution" ridicously expensive
