Paxon PCT-50

The PCT-50 is the combination of a television and a MSX1 computer in one unit. It was released by the Japanese company General in the very beginning of the MSX history and was available in two colors : silver and red. The MSX computers produced by General are called 'Paxon', PCT meaning 'Paxon Computer TV'.

This machine has only one cartridge slot integrated in the left side of the monitor. Joysticks can be connected directly to the display/main unit. The PCK-50 keyboard is thus optional as the computer can be used as a gaming console with built-in display.

The MSX is internally connected to the monitor via a "high quality" RGB interface. This was appreciated by the Japanese users who wanted to make quality screendumps of their favorite games.

The official price is ¥128,000 for the main unit, ¥3,500 for a PCJ-50 joystick and ¥18,500 for the keyboard.
