This is a Famicom compatible handheld system. It is the ultimate handheld system for all Famicom fans!
The Game Axe is a complete hand-held system with volume & brightness knobs, two controller connectors and even Audio/Video IN and OUT ports! Thus it is possible to use the Game Axe on a TV (NTSC) like a "normal" console. You can then turn off the LCD screen thanks to a LCD toggle switch. With the A/V IN port you can connect any video source to watch on the LCD screen. Just imagine how useful this can be! The only thing the Game Axe lacks when compared to a Famicom, is the the expansion port.
You can play almost every games produced for the Famicom (some unlicenced ones won't work). American and European NES game can be played by using a special 60-72 pin converter.
There were in fact two versions of the Game Axe, the FC-812 and the FC-868 (Super Game Axe). The FC-812 was produced from 1995 until 1997, it had a 3" (7.26cm) screen, ared power led and a characteristic white border around it. The FC-868 was produced from 1997 until present. It has a 4"(10.2cm) screen and a green power LED. This is the most common version found nowadays.
