Fairchild
Channel F

Galactic Space Wars

This cartridge offers two games: Space Wars and Lunar Landing.

In Space Wars, you must track enemy space ships with the use of an instrumentation readout as well as visual contact. When you spot one, don't let it go and destroy it with your lasers.

Like many other "3D" space games of the time, Space Wars was largely inspired by Atari arcade hit: Starship 1. Even the pseudo 3D starfield is well rendered here!

The second game, Lunar Landing is also a direct copy of the Atari arcade hit Lunar Lander! You must guide your spaceship to land on the moon surface, right onto a small green landing pad. You can steer your spaceship left and right, and use your reactors to slow down your fall but in this case you will also use your limited fuel.

This version is not very enjoyable with its blocky graphics and jerky animation. Even the inertia is not well rendered.

Of course, compared to other available Channel F games, this cartridge is not bad, introducing real arcade hits to the Channel F.
